Made famous in the acclaimed Law of Attraction documentary “The Secret”, manifestation checks, or abundance checks, are checks you make out to yourself in order to manifest money or other forms of abundance. The documentary presented one man who used manifestation checks to manifest $1,000,000.
Start Small, Dream Big
You don’t have to start out jumping into the deep end of the pool with $1 million starting goal either. This can help support the belief required for the Law of Attraction to wok and minimize the degree of doubt or attachment threatening to sabotage your success. Even the man presented as an example in “The Secret” manifested $100,000 first before moving on to aim for ten times higher. You don’t even have to start that high; in fact, you probably shouldn’t. Start instead with a smaller, more reasonable amount, though make sure it’s large enough to still ignite and fuel your desire.
As soon as you manifest money at a smaller amount, you can increase the amount for your next abundance check, and so on from there.
Manifest More Than Money
Money isn’t the only form of abundance. A new job, a vacation, improved health and healing in your relationship are all other examples of abundance. Therefore, you can use manifestation checks not only to manifest money but these and any other forms of abundance as well.
One way to do this is to write down the name of the item or experience you wish to manifest on the “Amount” line; another way is to estimate the cost of the item or experience and write down that dollar amount in the “Amount” line, then write what the money is to be used for on the “Memo” line.
Celebrities Use Manifestation Checks Too
Even famous and successful people use manifestation checks to manifest money and create abundance. Just look at Jim Carrey.
Jim Carrey told Oprah Winfrey in an interview that, years earlier, long before he was a household name, he had written an abundance check for $10 million dollars made out to himself “for acting services rendered,” dated several years in the future. For the next several years, Carrey carried that check around with him everywhere. Then, one or two days before the date on the check, he landed a new role in a film called “Dumb and Dumber” that would pay him $10 million.
Now, if you think, “Well, that’s easy when you’re a famous actor and already have a hefty bank account to start from.” But here’s the thing: Carrey was unknown and penniless when he wrote that abundance check. But, following the Laws of Attraction, he held fast to the knowledge that he was worth that amount and to his desire to achieve it.
Steps to Using Manifestation Checks
Using manifestation checks to effectively manifest money and other desires is a simple four-step process:
- Print out a check. (More on this below.)
- Under “Pay to the order of,” write your name; for the amount, write a specific dollar amount or whatever other thing you wish to manifest; date it sometime in the future.
- Sign it, either with your own name or with a relevant term meaningful to you, like “The Universe.”
- Believe in the inevitability of that check being valid when it comes due, no differently than you would believe in the inevitability of a meal you ordered at a restaurant arriving. Let go of any doubts or concerns you may have about the check actually becoming valid in the time allotted.
- Carry the check around with you wherever you go between the time of writing it and the time of “cashing” it.
Do I Use Real Checks?
Yes, you can certainly use blank checks from your own checkbook to write your abundance checks. However, there are also boundless digital abundance check templates online that you can download and use for your manifestation checks.

How Abundance Checks Work

Earning It
Now, keep in mind, abundance checks may be like a magic wand in some ways, but they’re quite different in an extremely pertinent other way. Unlike a magic wand’s point-and-shoot solution, abundance checks take work–or at least participation–on your part to be successful. You can’t just write it, forget about it and wait for financial freedom to come to you on a silver platter. You have to show up. You have to engage with your personal reality in a way that provides the universe with an avenue for delivering those funds.
Like Jim Carrey told Oprah Winfrey in that powerful interview, after writing that check, he then had to work hard at what he wanted. Believe in it. Dream it. You can use a vision board to help you figure out how to do that. Because, whatever it is you want, you still have to commit your physical energy-and not just your thoughts and desire-to achieving it.
